My wife and I had a pleasant one night stay at this hotel on our way from Chicago to Minnesota. I would recommend this hotel highly. The king room that we reserved turned out to be one of the best holiday inn rooms that we have stayed in. There is an attached Perkins Restaurant which was very convenient for our dinner and breakfast. We also took advantage of their recreational offerings including the nicely sized pool, ping pong and air hockey. The desk staff were very nice. All in all, an excellent stay. We would recommend to travelers and business people. I stayed here while visiting friends in the Tomah/Kendall/Mauston area. It may have been 20 below zero outside, but it was warm and comfortable inside. The rooms are large and reasonably well maintained. The pool and hot tub are also well maintained and inviting. Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have an elevator - it was irritating to have to lug heavy luggage up stairs. The Tomah Holiday Inn is a great place to stay. They are conveniently located right off Interstate I-94. Located only 15 minutes from Fort McCoy. They have gone above and beyond to work with our local military base in housing soliders that were not able to find housing on base due to large number of soliders going through Fort McCoy. Holiday Inn does honor military discounts for military personnel as they should. Family members of military are NOT entitled to receive military discounts.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn--we tried to get in to several other hotels in the immediate area, but they were full. It was late, so we really didn't have much choice. But I wouldn't stay here again. The front desk people we met during check in and out were very friendly and helped in the morning with calling a cab for us (our car had broken down nearby). I didn't think the room price was out of hand--until I got into the room itself. There was an over-powering bad smell in the room. When I went to open the window to try to air it out, we found there was no screen. So we had to suffer with the smell as it was better than the thought of spending the evening with every mosquito in the county. The room was not very clean. There was a WET wash cloth hanging over the shower rod--I had to wonder if someone else came in to the room for a bit and then checked out for some reason. Why else would the wash cloth still be wet??? That didn't bode well with me. Needless to say, we didn't enjoy the few hours that we had to spend there. Others had no problem with the hotel, and some family members told me that they didn't have a bad experience with the hotel. All I can say is that our room was not acceptable, and if there were any kind of alternative room available at another hotel, we would have packed up and left once we found the dirty towel in the bathroom. My husband has just been recently deployed to serve his country. He has been at Ft McCoy for the past month. This past weekend we were allowed to come down to Tomah to visit him. The Holiday Inn had rooms available but we were told they did not have any more available military discounts. There were other military families that were given those discounts even thought they were not in a military room. When I asked for the same courtesy, I was informed that if they gave discounts to everybody then the Holiday Inn of Tomah would lose money. They clearly to me do NOT stand behind the soldiers even though they have a sign in their window claiming they do. How can they advertise that they are proud to give out military discounts but when we show them our Military Card, they say that they ran out of discount rooms. Either you are in the military on active orders or you are not. I don't see the problem. I suggest to anyone who is planning on coming to Tomah to see their loved ones at Ft. Mc Coy that they do not stay at the Holiday Inn of Tomah. I suggest any other Hotel in the area. They clearly only care about themselves and their profit than for you or your loved one serving this county. They should be ashamed of themselves.
